Description[]

Schindler 5500 is a gearless traction elevator model that comes as Mini Machine Room (MMR) and machine roomless (MRL) type, designed for low to high rise commercial and residential buildings. It is the replacement of Schindler EuroLift and 5400 EU/5400 AP models, as well as Schindler NeoLift in Brazil and Latin American countries. This model was initially released in 2011, before it was officially introduced worldwide in 2013[4]. In the United States and Canada, it was launched in December 2014, which is a replacement for the Schindler 400AE elevator. All Schindler 5500 elevator cabs comes with choice of four different interior designs; Navona, Times Square, Park Avenue, and Sunset Boulevard. These interior designs are nearly identical to the ones in Schindler 3300 elevators. Despite those are provided, custom cab design for the building are also available depending the contract between the building owners and the contractors.

It is also possible to be integrated with the PORT destination dispatch system and can accommodate up to 8 elevator groups.

In Mainland China, the name of this model is Schindler 5500 AP.
