This is a guide to elevator door sills. This can be used to identify elevator brands, or figure out the age of an elevator[1]. This list will only list any elevator companies that make elevator door components. For any elevator door components which generic elevator companies used, please refer to the generic elevator component door sill guide.
Note that from the 1970's to 1990's, Dong Yang made elevators under license from Toshiba and thus the door sills type that were used by the company are from Toshiba. They continued using the same type even after both companies ended their partnership.

2000s-Present[]
Beginning in the 2000s, Schindler choose Sematic Group (for 2400, 2500, 2600, optional feature of the 3300, 5400, 5500 and is a standard feature of the 7000) as their door component supplier. They also use door components provided by Wittur Group (usually for 300 P and both 5400 AP and 7000 installed under the project from Hong Kong Housing Authority in Hong Kong) and Fermator (for 3100, 3300, 6200 and 6300 elevators) for some installations. Their QKS9 door component is still used but is now quite rare for new installations[9], while the Schindler 400A elevators in North America are using QKS16 VF door operator.

Schindler 3100, 3300, 6200 and 6300 elevators use Fermator door equipment with direct drive, regardless of region. The size of both the shaft and cab side of the door sill/track is slim. Sematic door equipment can also be used on some 3300 AP elevators as an option, usually for glass doors[10].

2000s-present Schindler (Fermator) door sill (center opening doors, 3300 AP). Notice that both the shaft and cab side sills are slim and about the same size as each others.
For Schindler 5500, it uses door components made by Sematic Group. The doors makes a very unique "futuristic" movement sound when opening and closing, this is because Sematic doors use geared drive. For the sill size, the shaft side sill is always bigger than the cab side sill.
2015 Schindler (Sematic) door sill (center opening doors, 5500). Notice the shaft side sill (above) is bigger than the cab side sill (below).
2013-Present Schindler (Sematic) door sill (center-opening doors, 5500).
For Schindler 7000, it uses door components made by Sematic Group. The doors makes a very unique "futuristic" movement sound when opening and closing (but different than 5500[11]), this is because Sematic doors use geared drive. For the sill size, the shaft side sill is always bigger than the cab side sill.
