CEDES (CEDES AG) is a Swiss company produce sensors and intelligent systems, founded in 1986 at Switzerland.

CEDES was founded in 1986 by Beat De Coi.

Products

CEDES make products that are divided into two programs; elevator and doors and gates industry. In the elevator industry, CEDES makes elevator door sensors/light curtains, 3D sensors and safeguards, elevator positioning systems and platform lift safeguardings. Their "cegard" series is one of their successful products in the elevator industry segment.

In the doors and gates industry, the company makes door protections, speed gates (turnstiles), people counting and industrial gates safeguardings.

Worldwide locations

CEDES is headquartered in Switzerland and currently has branches in 11 countries. Its corporate headquarter is located in Science Park, Landquart. Outside Switzerland, CEDES has branches in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, United States (located in Minneapolis), Singapore, China, Taiwan and Thailand.

  • Most CEDES elevator door sensors installed in 2000s will emit a continuous, slightly higher pitch beeping sound when a person or an object blocks them.
  • The "cegard" series are also known as "Progard L" by Schindler.
